Africa 2026

A Trip of a Lifetime

Kate and I were fortunate to spend two weeks in Africa in June. We visited three camps in Kenya and a lodge in Rwanda.

We met interesting people - both the locals and fellow travelers. We were pampered as we “glamped,” enjoying comfortable lodging and amazing food.

In the end, though, it was about the wildlife we had the privilege to experience. According to National Geographic, the African continent has lost over 80 percent of its natural wildlife in the past 50 years. I can only hope that conservation efforts will continue to succeed so that my children and my grandchildren can enjoy a similar experience.

About the photos….

Yes, I took A LOT of photos….almost 9,000 of them. I’ve tried my best to pare this site down to “keepers” only, roughly 1,100 photos and a few videos. Some are redundant - I couldn’t bear to delete them. Some tell a story, because we witnessed life in the wild play out before us.

I hope you find some you enjoy. As always, this site is best viewed on a large screen.
